Vehicle crashes into Des Moines car wash, driver charged

DES MOINES, Iowa — A pickup truck crashed into a car wash on the north side of Des Moines Friday morning.

At around 10 a.m. the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle vs. building crash in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue. When first responders arrived on scene they found a Ford F-150 had crashed into the Hiland Car Wash. No injuries were reported.

Sgt. Paul Parizek with DMPD said the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 44-year-old Timothy Montez Shade, told officers that he fell asleep before the crash. Shade has been charged with driving while barred and faces several traffic violations.
