Acclaimed brews from Peace Tree will live on thanks to Backpocket Brewing

CORALVILLE, Iowa — Fan favorite brews from Peace Tree Brewing will live on. Backpocket Brewing announced on Wednesday that it acquired Peace Tree Brewing’s brands, including the acclaimed Blonde Fatale.

In late June the Knoxville-based brewery announced it would be ceasing operations after over a decade leading the way in Iowa’s craft beer scene.

Megan McKay, the owner of Peace Tree Brewing, said the sale of the brands to Backpocket Brewing will ensure the brewery’s legacy lives on.

“My commitment has always been to create exceptional beers that resonate with our community and beyond,” McKay said in a statement on Facebook. “Selling to Backpocket Brewing allows Peace Tree’s legacy to live on, ensuring that our cherished brands will continue to be enjoyed.”

“Taking on Peace Tree Brewing’s production is an incredible opportunity for us,” Aaron Vargas, Backpocket Brewing owner, said. “This acquisition not only enhances our offerings but also allows us to carry forward the hard work and dreams of the Peace Tree Brewing team, whose passion for Iowa Craft Beer has inspired many.”

Backpocket Brewing said the production of Peace Tree’s brews are underway and should be available in mid-November. To learn more about Backpocket Brewing and find where they’re located just visit their website.
