Meals From the Heartland has 2 million meal goal in its 17th Annual Hunger Fight

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Meals From The Heartland is holding its 17th Annual Hunger Fight this week with the goal of packaging two million meals.

Greg Dehaai, the organization’s Executive Director, said the Hunger Fight wouldn’t be possible without volunteers and the community.

“It’s just a great effort by the community. As you can see they come in and package meals with us, as well as the sponsors and donors to help pay for the products,” Dehaai said.

This year the Annual Hunger Fight is taking place at Meals From The Heartland’s packaging facility in West Des Moines.

There are still volunteer spots available for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
