AMES, Iowa — A 67-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way, head-on crash in Ames late Thursday night.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at around 11:57 p.m. 67-year-old John Husted Berg was driving a 2003 Buick Rendezvous eastbound in the westbound lanes of 13th Street, just east of Hyland Avenue, when he struck another vehicle head-on.
Berg was not wearing a seatbelt and died from his injuries at the scene, the crash report states. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Kari Rachelle Storjohann, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
No additional information has been released.
