DES MOINES, Iowa — A man was seriously injured when he was hit by a SUV in Des Moines Monday afternoon.
At around 3:30 p.m., the Des Moines Police Department said that rescue personnel with the police department and Des Moines Fire Department responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the 2600 block of Ingersoll Avenue.
According to the DMPD, the victim was struck by an eastbound SUV and suffered serious injuries. The victim has been transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The DMPD said that Ingersoll Avenue between 24th Street to 28th Street will be closed while an investigation of the crash is conducted.
