WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Transportation continues their work on Interstate 80, this week, overnight closures at a section between West Des Moines and Waukee.
The Iowa DOT says I-80 eastbound between Grand Prairie Parkway and the southwest mixmaster connecting I-80 to Interstates 35 and 235 will be closed starting at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3. The road is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 4.
The second closure is scheduled to occur in the same area from 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4 through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5. The Iowa DOT says crews will be working on paving concreate and widening the ramp during the closures.
These closures are occurring alongside closures at the northeast mixmaster. That closure will affect the westbound lanes of I-80 and sections of I-235 and is scheduled to take place during the same hours and dates listed above.
While the ramp is closed, the Iowa DOT says drivers will follow a marked detour route using northbound I-35, SE Corporate Woods Drive, southbound I-35, and westbound I-80.

The Iowa DOT says a detour for 1-35 southbound will have drivers exit and head north on Grand Prairie Parkway heading east on University Avenue until merging back onto I-35 south at the interchange.
To reach I-235 eastbound the Iowa DOT says drivers will exit and head north on Grand Prairie Parkway, then travel east on University Avenue, head north on Valley West Drive/100th Street before heading west on Hickman Road and merging onto I-80 from the interchange.
Finally, those needing to reach I-80 eastbound/I-35 northbound will exit heading north on Grand Prairie Parkway and then head east on University Avenue before merging onto I-35 south at the interchange.
