IOWA (KCAU) — An Iowan politician has formally launched his campaign for governor.
Representative Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) has entered Iowa’s 2026 Gubernatorial Race. Back in May, Feenstra filed paperwork indicating he might be running, and then he confirmed this notion. As of October 28, 2025, he’s finally launching his campaign.
“I’m excited to officially launch our campaign to take Iowa to new heights. Born and raised in the small community of Hull, I learned hard work at a young age, and I want to take a workhorse mentality to Des Moines,” said Randy Feenstra. “In Congress, I worked with President Trump to deliver the largest tax cut in U.S. history, keep men out of women’s sports and bathrooms, and stop China from buying Iowa farmland, and as Governor, I will work with President Trump to advance the America First agenda in Iowa. Together, with the support of Iowans across our great state, we will defend our conservative values and take Iowa to new heights.”
Feenstra’s work history consists of government work, such as serving as Hull City Administrator, Sioux County Treasurer, and Iowa’s 4th District Representative. His campaign launch video can be found by clicking here.
Earlier this year, Governor Kim Reynolds announced that she would not be running for Iowa Governor again.
There are a few contenders for the spot, though. In May, Iowa’s Auditor, Rob Sand, also announced he’s running for the governorship. Julie Staunch, a Democrat, and Republican Adam Steen both announced they intend to enter the race. Representative Pat Grassley and Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird may eventually announce their intentions to run as well.
