URBANDALE, Iowa — A car landed on its side after police say it turned in front of others at an Urbandale intersection Thursday afternoon.
According to Urbandale Police Department Sgt. Joe Fisher, the two-vehicle accident occurred just before 2:15 p.m. at 86th Street and Plum Drive in Urbandale.
An SUV was at the intersection in the far left lane when it turned right, crossing two lanes of traffic, and was struck by a SUV which was heading straight, according to Sgt. Fisher.
The UPD says the SUV that was turning right landed on the drivers side after being struck, which resulted in the Urbandale Fire Department having to help the driver exit the vehicle. According to Sgt. Fisher, the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
