POLK COUNTY, Iowa — Overnight closures on a portion of I-80/35 in western Polk County start Wednesday night.

The Iowa Department of Transportation says I-80 WB will be closed between Highway 141 and up to University Avenue between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. That also means the on-ramps to I-80 WB at Highway 141, Meredith Drive, Douglas Avenue, and Hickman Road will be closed. The on-ramp to I-80 WB at University Avenue will remain open.

A detour will be in place, directing traffic off the interstate and south onto NW Urbandale Drive which turns into 100th Street before becoming Valley West Drive and then entering I-235 westbound which leads to the west mixmaster.
