DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines chase Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a kidnapping suspect police say.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, just before 3:30 p.m. officers observed a reported stolen vehicle near the intersection of MLK, Jr. Parkway and Douglas Avenue. The officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the DMPD said the vehicle sped off.
A chase ensued and later ended when the driver, identified as a 30-year-old man, crashed the vehicle into another vehicle at the intersection of 6th Avenue and College Avenue, the DMPD said. One person suffered minor injuries in the crash, but police did not specify who was injured.
The DMPD said the driver of the stolen vehicle is a suspect in a kidnapping case connected to a domestic violence incident from September. The suspect’s name has not been released.
