Two injured after Grundy Center mans hits squad car during pursuit

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa — Authorities say two people were injured after a Grundy Center man hit a squad car head on during a police pursuit.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident according Friday around 10:30 p.m. around the 1800 block of Sergeant Road in Hudson.

24-year-old Cory Devries was heading south while leading authorities on a pursuit when Devries crashed into a fully marked squad car, with it’s emergency lights flashing, head on.

Devries was taken by AirMed to an Iowa City hospital and 45-year-old Joshua Meggers was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

ISP was assisted by the Black Hawk and Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and the Hudson Police and Fire Departments.
