ALLERTON, Iowa — An Allerton woman is facing an attempted murder charge after law enforcement say she put poisonous chemicals into a victim’s injectable medication.
Halie Spidle, 36, was charged with attempted murder and administering harmful substances. According to a criminal complaint, Spidle put “algaecide and/or brake cleaner” into the victim’s injectable medication without the victim’s knowledge.
Spidle was booked into the Wayne County Jail on Thursday. According to court records, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 26.
