DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol says five people were injured after a wrong-way driver on Interstate 35 hit a vehicle head-on.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred Sunday just after 4:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35, near mile marker 87. Authorities say a Chevy Equinox was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it struck a Ford F-150 head one.
The driver of the wrong-way Chevy has not been identified at this time. Five people were transported via Polk County Rescue to Mercy Hospital. The severity of their injures has not been released.
