GREENE COUNTY, Iowa — Sentencing for a Greene County man accused of stabbing a man and setting his house on fire has been continued.
Devin Hackfort, 28, pled guilty to willful injury and two counts of assaulting a person in a certain occupation last month.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office said that on March 11th, 2025, Hackfort stabbed his uncle with a pair of scissors at his Paton home. His uncle drove himself to the hospital while calling 911. During that time, the GCSO said Hackfort set his uncle’s home on fire.
Sentencing has been continued to September 29th at the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson.
