DES MOINES, Iowa — GalaxyCon rolled into the Iowa Events Center for the first time featuring comic cartoonists, actors and more throughout the three-day event from Sept. 12-14.
After a successful ComicCon event last year, organizers decided to bring the full GalaxyCon to Des Moines. The event gives people the opportunity to check out their favorites comic book creators, actors in various shows and movies, along with vendors to check out as well.
Megan Levens has been a professional comic cartoonist for the past 10 years. Some of her pieces take up to 15 hours to either draw or design. Currently, Levens is working on a project for Star Trek.
Chris Bartlett is most widely known for his role in playing C-3PO for Star Wars in all three seasons of The Mandalorian. Bartlett also plays various droids in the Star Wars series. He talks about how he got his break into the industry and the process of transforming into C-3PO.
Brian O’Holloran is a producer and actor for various movies and TV shows. He is most known for his role as Dante Hicks in the “Clerks” trilogy. He also made a trivia show appearance on The Floor. He holds the record on the show for most duels won and amassed $110,000 while a contestant.
Kimiko Glenn is an actress known for her various rolls in TV and voice acting. She is the voice of Baby Shark, played Brook Soso in Orange is the New Black and voiced Niffty in Hazbin Hotel. Those are just a few roles that Glenn has played.
Exhibitors will be open until 6 p.m. Sunday, while the event will be open until 8 p.m. Tickets and more information on the event can be found here.
