CLIVE, Iowa — A hit-and-run crash in Clive resulted in a pickup truck crashing into a Kum & Go gas station Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3:44 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a pickup truck that had crashed into the gas station located in the 1700 block of 86th Street.
According to the City of Clive, a vehicle tried to cut through the gas station parking lot and side swiped the pickup truck, causing it to crash through the front of the building. The city said that the other vehicle involved, driven by a 15-year-old, fled from the scene before law enforcement arrived. The teen was later apprehended and cited for violating an instruction permit and leaving the scene of an accident.
The city said that the damage to the vehicles and the building is estimated to be about $30,000.
No injuries were reported.
