DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines International Airport is introducing EZ-Pickup, a new pickup policy aimed at reducing congestion at the airport’s front curb.
The EZ-Pickup System will go into affect Tuesday, September 2, and is designed to alleviate congestion at the airport’s front curb by directing drivers to wait in designated stalls within the parking garage.
This system requires drivers to stay with their vehicles and text their stall number to their arriving passengers, who can then follow airport signage to meet them. Drivers using the EZ-Pickup System can wait in the designated stalls for up to two hours free of charge. After two hours, a fee of $2 per hour will apply.
To enforce the new program, airport staff and security will monitor curb activity and vehicle movements. Vehicles left unattended or waiting without a passenger at the curb will be ticketed.
EZ-Pickup is part of the DSM airports #FlyingProgress initiative and will remain in place through the opening of the new terminal. Learn more about EZ-Pickup and #FlyingProgress construction on the DSM International Airport Website.
