Fire at massive Iowa chicken farm contained after hours of effort

TAYLOR COUNTY, Iowa — A large fire broke out at a chicken farm near Clearfield in southwest Iowa on Tuesday, requiring the response of multiple agencies to contain it.

The Creston Fire Department first posted about being called to the fire on mutual aid shortly after 5:30 PM.

More than 25 departments, involving over a hundred personnel, were dispatched to the scene to battle the blaze. The Mount Ayr Fire Department and Taylor County law enforcement also documented the event, sharing photos that depicted the extensive flames and smoke.

The fire was successfully contained shortly after midnight. However, the cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing.
