DES MOINES, Iowa – The World Food and Music Festival is back this weekend, bringing the flavors and sounds from over 50 vendors from 25 countries.
Beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, vendors will be serving food and drinks from around the world in Western Gateway Park. Spark DSM is also partnering with several small businesses to help them make an appearance at the festival.
According to the Greater Des Moines Partnership, this is one of the largest festivals in Des Moines, drawing around 100,000 people a year. Music is also a big part of the festival, with two stages and free admission to the concerts and the festival itself.
One unique part of the festival is the Nationalization Ceremony hosted by the U.S. District Court. The ceremony takes place right around when the festival begins on Friday morning, as several people from around the world become U.S. citizens.
Vendors will have a variety of food items to choose from, including a $2 taste item. The taste item allows visitors to try as many foods as possible without getting too full or breaking the bank.
Visitors to the festival are also able to park in the Nationwide garage for free.
The World Food and Music Festival will take place Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can find more information on their website here.
