SAC CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A 90-year-old has died after a crash in Sac County, the Iowa State Patrol (ISP) reported.
ISP stated that, on Thursday at 7:29 a.m., a vehicle crashed while trying to pass a semi on Union Avenue in Sac County.
According to the ISP, a vehicle, driven by Jeremy Frank, 47, of Carroll, Iowa, was heading north and tried to pass the semi while a secondary vehicle was heading south on the same road. Both vehicles swerved to avoid a collision, but the first vehicle hit the second one on the driver’s front side. Both vehicles ended up in the west ditch.
Roy Russom, 90, of Wall Lake, Iowa, was reportedly in the vehicle heading south. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities cited intense fog present at the time.
