DES MOINES, Iowa — It’s not every day that you see superheroes rappelling down the side of a building while washing windows. However, for children being treated at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, it’s an annual tradition.
Each year, the crew at Larry’s Window Services goes to Blank Children’s Hospital dressed up as superheroes, meets with kids, and rappels down the building, washing windows along the way.
The event isn’t only a fun event and a bright spot for the kids, but also for the superheroes.
“Being able to see those parents and the kids being able to take a second and get out of the mind space of where they’re at and what’s going on in their life and just kind of be able to smile and just seeing the little things of us going in that room, just makes my heart kind of warm up,” said Spencer Connors, aka Captain America.
Connors said it’s one of the best days of work each year.
