Heating up with a few storm chances

DES MOINES, Iowa — A nice Wednesday will transition to a nice but warmer Thursday. Your weather timeline has more:

Lows tonight will be pleasant again, and we’ll see temperatures a couple of degrees warmer on Thursday. A couple showers may wander in to the far northwestern part of Iowa.

A boundary will wander into the state starting Friday and hang around our general vicinity until Tuesday or so as temperatures warm and dewpoints rise. On occasion, we’ll see thunderstorms fire along the front. At this point the best chances look to come Friday morning, and also late Sunday into Monday as shown below.

Highs for the upcoming six days are above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts below. Temperatures look to drop back to the neighborhood of normal by the end of August.
