MARION COUNTY, Iowa — A Pleasantville man lying in a driveway was run over by an SUV late Monday night.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at around 9:51 p.m. a Buick Enclave was turning into the driveway of a home in the 200 block of Gear Street in Pleasantville when it hit a 79-year-old man who was lying in the driveway . The crash report says that the driver of the SUV then backed up off the victim and called 911.

The victim was transported to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries.

The crash report does not state why the 79-year-old was lying in the driveway. No additional information has been released.
