BOONE COUNTY, Iowa — One person was killed and two were injured during a side-by-side and truck crash in Boone County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred Saturday just before 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of I Avenue and 280th Street, south of Ogden in Boone County.
A Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on 280th Street, and a Honda SxS was northbound on I Avenue when both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection at the same time and collided with each other. ISP says tall corn blocking both drivers’ view contributed to the crash.
The driver of the SxS, 55-year-old Bobby Rodriquez, was killed during the collision. Two others, 40-year-old Rebecca Rodriquez and 9-year-old Noah Rodriquez, were life-flighted to the hospital with injuries.
