You guessed it: more rain on the way

DES MOINES, Iowa — The morning round of storms left behind some gusty winds and, in spots, heavy rain as seen below. More is on the way Saturday night.

After a steamy Friday, we’ve seen a cooler day with rain and clouds hanging around in some areas into the early afternoon. Sunday will be a similar day, as seen in the timeline below.

We’re under a slight risk of severe weather later, with heavy rain, gusty winds, and some hail possible overnight. We’ll also be watching area rivers, especially in southeast Iowa. A flood watch remains in effect until Monday afternoon.

Storms look to fire up/move in after midnight. We’ll be here to monitor. They should linger until around lunchtime Sunday. We’ll see another round, with low severe chances, from late afternoon Sunday until the morning drive Monday.

Southeast Iowa has a chance to see even more rain late Monday, as seen below. Finally, we could see our final round of rain until the following Sunday from late afternoon on Tuesday into the evening.

Highs for the next six days are above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecast is below. The extended forecasts again keep us in very warm temps!
