DES MOINES, Iowa — After a seasonably cool weekend, temperatures will ramp up again this week. Your weather timeline takes you into Tuesday. We’ve got one more fairly cool overnight ahead.


Air quality has improved Sunday and will do so again on Monday. The smoke will be shifting to the northeastern U.S.

Dewpoints will be increasing along with temperature this week. This will help fuel rain chances by Thursday.

A couple of sprinkles are possible in central Iowa the next two days, but better rain chances will remain in the far west.


Better storm chances come Thursday as a disturbance moves over the area. Thursday’s rainfall estimates are below.


Highs reach the 90s by Thursday, and heat indices could be in the 100s again by Saturday. Highs for the next six days are above.
