NEVADA, Iowa — A man is dead after he was struck by a train in eastern Nevada on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Nevada Police Department, authorities were notified that a pedestrian had been struck by a train at 8th Street and N Avenue just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police say an adult male, approximately 70 years old, was on foot when he was hit by the train. There did not appear to be any outside circumstances that led to the man being on the tracks, police said.
The Nevada Police Department is investigating the incident.
