DES MOINES, Iowa — Three Iowans will appear on the small screen Monday night during the American Ninja Warrior semifinals.

The episode will feature a 10-obstacle gauntlet built from the show’s most iconic challenges, with no second chances left for the remaining athletes. The fastest contestants will advance to the national finals.

Iowa’s hometown heroes include Ben Behrends and Jason Behrends of Cedar Falls and Spencer Johnson of Des Moines.

Spencer joined WHO 13’s Katie Kaplan during News at Noon on Monday to talk about his ninja experiences, his gym Emerge Academy, and the charity Change Course, run by his parents.
