GRIMES, Iowa — No injuries were reported after a house fire brought several agencies to Grimes on Saturday.
According to authorities, several fire department crews were called to the 1200 block of NE 21st Street just after 1:30 p.m. on reports of a house fire.
Crews arrived on the scene and located a fire in the attached garage of a home with heavy smoke showing. Crews began efforts to knock down the fire and were able to get control of the flames quickly.
A few residents were home at the time of the fire but were able to exit before fire crews arrived. Crews conducted a search of the home and rescued a dog. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Urbandale, Johnston-Grimes, Saylorville Township, and West Des Moines Fire Departments all responded to the scene.
Authorities say an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
