DES MOINES, Iowa — Three people were seriously injured in a crash on the city’s southwest side Thursday afternoon.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, the crash shut down all lanes of traffic on SW 9th Street between Randolph and Frederick streets. As of 2:50 p.m., police said rescue crews were working to extricate one patient. Two patients have been transported to a Des Moines hospital.
Police said the street closure is expected to last until about 3:30 p.m.
An investigation into the crash is underway. No additional information has been released.
