DES MOINES, Iowa — We did receive some rainfall in parts of Iowa overnight, with the southeast seeing the least. Totals follow.

Cooler air has moved in behind the rain. Your weather timeline takes you into Friday.

The boundary that passed today will stall over southern Iowa or northern Missouri this evening, setting southern Iowa up for the potential for storms and heavy rainfall. The rest of us will just see cool low temperatures.

Warmer temperatures and storm chances then return to Iowa starting Saturday morning and lasting intermittently into Monday. Rain chances will be best during the mornings all three days, and heavy totals are possible. Isolated storms will be possible during the heating of the day during the afternoons and evenings.

The European model and Weather Prediction Center’s rainfall predictions through Monday afternoon are above and below.

Highs for the next six days are in the preceding slideshow. It will be cool Thursday and Friday before humidity returns for the weekend.

The extended outlooks below keep us in the heat with above-average precipitation chances.
