DES MOINES, Iowa — As promised, we turned up the heat and humidity today, and tomorrow will be nearly the same. Your weather timeline steps you into Wednesday.

Storms are likely early and again late on Wednesday, as shown in the slideshow below. We’ll see cooler air filter in behind the rain, with highs only in the 70s Thursday and Friday. More storm chances are ahead Saturday and Monday, with a lesser chance on Sunday.

The European model, below left, puts quite a bit of rain into the ground and waterways through next Monday, while the Weather Prediction Center’s output is a little lower. In any event, soaking rain is on the way again.
