CARROLL, Iowa — Two were killed and another was seriously injured during a multi-vehicle crash in Carroll County on Friday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and 120th Street, north of Carroll.
A Toyota was traveling on 120th Street when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of 120th Street and Highway 71. At that time, a Chevy was traveling southbound on Highway 71 and struck the Toyota. Then, a semi traveling northbound on Highway 71 struck the Toyota after the Chevy. The Toyota finally came to rest in the east ditch.
The driver of the Toyota, 79-year-old Jack Brown, was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Chevy, 79-year-old Jeanette Bolster, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the Chevy, 82-year-old Francis Bolster, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither the driver of the semi, 47-year-old Tyler Ward, nor their passenger were injured.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Carroll County Emergency Medical Services, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll Police Department, and Breda Fire Department.
