DES MOINES, Iowa — On Sunday, Congressman Zach Nunn discussed the passage of the massive spending bill just two days after it was signed into law.
The two-term U.S. Representative is in one of the most contentious districts in a state that has been electing Republicans consistently for years.
Congressman Nunn has been backed by President Trump since May of this year. And on July 6, Trump reinforced his endorsement, calling it “complete and total”. In an interview with WHO 13 News on Sunday, Nunn did not specify if he would be seeking his third term in IA-03.
“Well here’s what we made the commitment to, we were going to finish this big, beautiful bill. We just got done with that on Wednesday, we flew back to Iowa on Thursday and now we’re talking to people across the board. My major push, particularly this week, is to make sure that everybody knows the huge impacts that this is going to make to help every Iowan. I’ve got a lot of bills going forward, and I am very committed to make sure we put Iowa in the best possible spot. But that I’m going to be very clear, our best successes have come from the recommendations of Iowans. We’ve taken the Iowa model to the federal level and we’ve been able to get a lot done. So we’re going to continue to watch this space, talk with Iowans about what happens next. I’m just so proud of everybody from Iowa who came forward and helped us move this bill forward. It is going to be a generational change for the better that helps communities across our great state,” said Congressman Zach Nunn (R).
On July 6, someone registered six online domain names, all referencing “Zach Nunn for Governor” in some capacity. WHO 13 News does not know who the owners of the website domains are.
Nunn’s campaign office did not respond to a request for comment about the website domains, or his open-ended answer about running in the same seat or seeking a different office.
