1 dead, 3 injured following multi-vehicle crash in Winnebago County

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Iowa — One person was killed, and three others were injured during a multi-vehicle crash in Winnebago County on Saturday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday on IA 9, west of 150th Avenue.

Authorities say a 2015 Buick was traveling eastbound on IA 9 when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and sideswiped a 2010 motorcycle. The 2010 motorcycle then lost control and came to rest on the north shoulder.

The Buick then hit a 2004 motorcycle head-on, pushing it and causing it to rest on the north shoulder. The passenger on the 2004 motorcycle was ejected.

The car then continued to the north ditch, where it stopped in the field.

Four people were involved in the crash and were transported to the hospital with injuries. The driver of the 2004 motorcycle, 21-year-old David Raak, was killed.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the crash.
