DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a plan to sunset the Integrated Health Home (IHH) Program by the end of 2025.
That program provides care for Iowans of all ages facing serious mental and behavioral health challenges.
The plan is to transition from the IHH program to a new Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model.
The transitional process has already begun. On July 1, the HHS began transition meetings for adults receiving care through the program. Meetings for children in the program will begin August 1.
The transition of adults to alternate modes of treatment, including the CCBHC model, is set to complete by September 30. By December 30, the plan is to have all children moved out of the current program as well.
The IHH program is scheduled to officially end on December 31.
The Iowa HHS says there will be multiple opportunities for impacted Iowans to share feedback and get more information, including avenues like town halls, Medicaid open office hours and a website with FAQs, a transition timeline and additional resources.
