GRIMES, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a rollover crash that injured one person in Grimes on Friday afternoon.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved a single-vehicle rollover that involved an adult male. The accident occurred in the 700 block of NE Edgewood Drive. Polk County deputies and first responders are on scene.

The adult male sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital by the Johnston Grimes Fire Department.

Authorities have closed the area between NE 5th Street and NE 8th Street while traffic investigators and deputies are on scene. Commuters are asked to use NE Beaverbrook Boulevard to avoid the area.
