Forecast: Rain chances and eventual warming

DES MOINES, Iowa — After another cool day, rain chances increase Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Your weather timeline steps you through it:

Low will again be cool Saturday night in Iowa with cloud cover around and rain for some. The slideshow below shows the timing, with scattered showers, mainly south of Highway 20, lasting into the night.

By Sunday morning, most of the rain will be falling in southern Iowa and will then diminish. Most of Sunday will be dry, and the same can be said for Monday morning. Rain chances start to increase again by late afternoon Monday.

This rain chance will last intermittently into Tuesday evening. Accumulation estimates are below, courtesy of the European computer model. Additional spotty shower chances will come during the heating of the day on Wednesday and Thursday. In both cases, rain will diminish as we move into the later evening.
