CRESTON, Iowa — The Creston Police Department is searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run with a motorcycle on Saturday.

The accident happened at approximately, 9:01 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 34 and Wyoming Street in southern Creston, according to the Creston Fire Department. The incident involved a motorcycle that was down in the roadway.

Creston Emergency Medical Services treated the motorcyclist, who was transported to the hospital’s heliport before being airlifted to a Des Moines hospital.

Authorities are searching for another vehicle, described as a dark pickup truck, believed to be involved in the accident.

The highway was closed for a time after the accident while the CFD cleaned up debris and local law enforcement investigated.

Greater Regional Health’s Medic 1 and 2, Creston Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Creston Fire Department all responded to the scene.
