IOWA FALLS, Iowa — The body of a kayaker who went missing in Hardin County on Friday along the Iowa River has been recovered.
According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11:48 a.m. on Friday, a 911 caller reported a male subject in the Iowa River in Iowa Falls. The male was reported separated from the kayak he had been in.
Public Safety was dispatched to the area, where an extensive search was conducted. Friday evening, just before 10:53 p.m., the body of a white male was recovered.
The kayaker’s name has not been released to the public.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.
