DES MOINES, Iowa — Friday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves will play the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Arena in an NBA preseason match-up.

Greg Edwards, the President and CEO of Catch Des Moines, said that hosting an NBA preseason game is a huge opportunity for the sports scene in Des Moines.

“It’s a super opportunity for Des Moines. You know Des Moines really becomes such a sports mecca anywhere in the Midwest with all the different things we noticed here. And hosting an NBA game is just huge for us. I mean, it really shows how much the community supports sporting events and having the NBA, you know, the top of the top tier of the basketball world, really, really cool,” Edwards said.
