A soaking rain fell across much of Iowa on Easter Sunday, but especially east of I-35, where most totals went over 1″ of rainfall. Severe weather stayed south across Missouri and southern Illinois.

- Centerville: 1.47″
- Ames: 1.44″
- Elkhart: 1.23″
- Grinnell: 1.09″
- Pella: 1.02″
- Knoxville: 1.02″
- Ankeny: 0.98″
- Des Moines: 0.97″
- Ottumwa: 0.92″
- Iowa Falls: 0.91″
- Oskaloosa: 0.89″
- Lamoni: 0.76″
- Perry: 0.71″
- Boone: 0.68″
- Osceola: 0.59″

The week ahead will be quite active with more rain chances. A warm front lifts across the state early Tuesday morning and will bring a few isolated showers and storms between 1 and 4 AM. We will have partly cloudy skies the rest of the day.

More scattered showers and storms will develop early in the morning of Wednesday just after midnight. These scattered showers and storms will continue on and off through the day.

A steadier rain moves in across Iowa through the second half of the day on Thursday and will wrap up early Friday morning.

All of this could add up to an additional 1 to 3″ of rain by the end of the week.
