NEWTON, Iowa — Fire crews battled a large fire on the edge of Newton overnight.

Calls came in around 10:00 Sunday night about a fire at the Moose Lodge. It’s located off 24th Avenue West, just south of Interstate 80.

The Newton Fire Department wasn’t able to provide many details but did confirm to WHO 13 around 4:00 a.m. Monday that the fire was out. The investigation into what caused the fire continues.
