GREENFIELD, Iowa — Greenfield Mercantile will hold a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, April 12 at noon.
Greenfield Mercantile, which is located at 226 Public Square, Greenfield, IA 50849, has moved into the store front that used to house Iowa’s longest standing men’s clothing store Crooks Clothing from 1888-2007.
The store serves as a brick and mortar retail space for over 27 local vendors.
Kendra Daniels, the owner of Greenfield Mercantile, said she is happy to provide an area for vendors to sell their goods.
“I’m just happy that the doors are open and we’re able to provide the space for everybody to sell their stuff and other people to be able to buy it without having to like, Hey, I’ll meet you at Fairway, you know,” Daniels said.
Daniels said she hopes the store will help draw people to the town of Greenfield.
“I’m not the only person here. So, we’re going to have at least four or five, maybe six other businesses open in town that day. I’ve made sure I’ve networked with everyone to be like, ‘Hey, we’re probably going to pull a little bit of a crowd. If you’d like to open your doors, showcase your stuff. Maybe we can get more travel to Greenfield.’ We’re only an hour out of Des Moines and we’re only an hour out of Omaha, so we’re that nice little in between. We can service anybody,” Daniels said.
