We’ve got a gorgeous Wednesday in progress, but some rain which started moving into northwest Iowa during the afternoon may dampen the mood. Your weather timeline takes you into Friday:

A boundary south of Iowa will keep us in intermittent storm chances into Friday morning, with the best chances moving to the southern part of the state by then. Lows Wednesday night will bottom out in the 40’s for most.

We’ll be in a slight risk for severe weather in southwest Iowa on Thursday, with the risk being from elevated storms producing hail.

Rain will move out for a while after early Friday, taking us into a windy and warm day. Many parts of Iowa will see highs in the 80’s.

By late Saturday a cold front will start to swing into the west, kicking off rain again. We’ll keep an eye out for severe chances, but they seem low for now. Precipitation will linger into Sunday night, and we may see some light snow mix in in parts of Iowa early Monday morning.

Expected rainfall amounts through Monday morning are below, with amounts through next Wednesday in the second image.

Turning to high temperatures, the warmest days come at the start of the 7-day forecast. We drop below normal Sunday through Tuesday. Have a great day!
