DES MOINES, Iowa — The historic theatre that once served as a vibrant gathering place has been closed for a decade; but now, work is underway to bring the Ingersoll Dinner Theatre back to life.

The theatre is set to reopen in November of 2025. Leaders say once up and operating, they’re hopeful to host shows five nights a week and reinstate themselves as an Ingersoll staple.

There’s going to be something every week, so if there are guests from out of town, or if you have a birthday coming up [they’ll think] ‘oh, what’s at the Ingersoll, maybe there’s something we can go do.’ It’s gonna be that, and it’s gonna be where you want to go for your birthday and anniversary, those special occasions,” said Steve Peters, Founder and CEO of VenuWorks.

Peters says the theatre will be a destination site, and says leaders with the project are excited to be a part of the booming businesses along Ingersoll.
