Mr. Worldwide and legendary rock band to play Grandstand at Iowa State Fair

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Fair has announced two more Grandstand acts for the 2025 fair.

Fairgoers got the chance to guess who would be playing the Grandstand when the fair posted two teaser images to their Facebook page on Tuesday. Many guesses were made, including Eric Church and Kelly Clarkson.

On Wednesday, the fair announced that the correct guesses were Pitbull and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pitbull, who also goes by Mr. Worldwide, is known for hits like “Timber” and “Fireball,” while rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd is known for songs “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”

Pitbull will take the stage on Sunday, August 10 and Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform on Monday, August 11. Both shows start at 8 p.m.

Tickets for both shows go on sale on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. on the fair’s website.

There is now only one more Grandstand act to be announced. A list of the line-up so far is below:

  • Thursday, August 7: Forrest Frank with special guest Lecrae
  • Friday, August 8: Parker McCollum with special guest Josh Abbot Band
  • Saturday, August 9: Megan Moroney with special guest Kameron Marlow
  • Sunday, August 10: Pitbull
  • Monday, August 11: Lynyrd Skynyrd
  • Tuesday, August 12: NOT ANNOUNCED
  • Wednesday, August 13: Hairball’s Silver Anniversary Tour
  • Thursday, August 14: Def Leppard
  • Friday, August 15: Hank Williams Jr.
  • Saturday, August 16: T-Pain
  • Sunday, August 17: Kidz Bop Live
