After a warm end to February, we were treated to a chilly start to March Saturday morning, but things will warm at bit into the work week. Your weather timeline walks you into Monday:

Lows Saturday night will be similar to those of the night before, but Sunday and Monday get warmer. Then, changes…

A strong low pressure system currently off the west coast will move into the upper Midwest Tuesday, spreading rain and thunder into Iowa and severe weather into the southern U.S.

The system will wrap enough cold air around it to switch the rain over to snow Wednesday morning, and that snow will be blown around by strong winds. Snow looks to taper in the afternoon. As of Saturday, amounts look to be in the 0.5″ – 3.5″ range.

Another fast-moving system may track across our area next Friday, spreading rain and snow across the state again as winter and spring continue to battle it out.

You won’t see much better agreement among members of an ensemble forecast as you do with Wednesday’s snowfall event, seen below, and it also appears likely at this point that light snow will fall next Friday.

Turning to temperatures, expect warming Sunday and Monday, followed by temperatures closer to average for this time of year.

The extended forecasts below are painting a picture of a warmer-than-average March. I doubt many will complain.

Your WHO 13 7-day forecasts are below. Have a good rest of the weekend!
