AMES, Iowa — A 19-year-old was injured in a shooting in Ames overnight.
At around 1:15 a.m. Thursday a 19-year-old reported that he had been shot in the abdomen near 24th Street and Inis Grove Park. According to police, the victim was transported to a hospital by private vehicle and is in stable condition.
Police said while at the hospital the victim said he had been robbed and then shot by two men in the 2500 block of Jensen Avenue. He told officers that the two men fled in a dark four-door car.
Ames police said the shooting was targeted and that there’s no ongoing danger to the public.
