DMPD searching for man in connection to Valentine’s Day murder

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is requesting the public’s help in searching for a man who may have information about the fatal Valentine’s Day shooting.

On February 14, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Maury Street. When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Armando Cruz Lorenzo suffering from gunshot wounds. Cruz Lorenzo died from his injuries at the scene.

Now, DMPD is asking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Brayan Lopez. According to police, Lopez was a known associate of Cruz Lorenzo and has valuable information about the fatal shooting.

Police said Lopez has an unrelated active arrest warrant for first-degree robbery.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911. Lopez is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to police.
